RETURNS AND REFUND POLICY

We want you to be completely happy with your The Safety Edit™ order. Please read this policy carefully before purchasing.
YOUR STATUTORY RIGHTS
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel most online purchases within 14 days of receiving them, without giving a reason. However, there are specific exceptions that apply to our products, which are explained below.
WHAT CAN BE RETURNED
Unopened, unused boxes in their original sealed condition may be returned within 14 days of delivery for a full refund of the product price. To request a return, please contact us at hello@thesafetyedit.co.uk within 14 days of receiving your order.
You will be responsible for the cost of return postage unless the item is faulty or was sent in error. We recommend using a tracked service, as we cannot accept responsibility for items lost in transit.
Refunds will be processed within 14 days of us receiving the returned item and will be issued to your original payment method.
WHAT CANNOT BE RETURNED
The following items cannot be returned or refunded once opened or used:
Opened gift boxes — once the seal on a safety gift box has been broken, the contents including the personal alarm, drink covers, test strips, and safety inserts are considered used for hygiene and safety reasons and cannot be returned. This exception is permitted under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (Regulation 28(3)), which allows sellers to exclude returns for goods that are not suitable for return due to hygiene reasons once unsealed.
Personalised items — if you have ordered a personalised item (such as a custom ICE wristband or a box with a handwritten personal message), this cannot be returned as it has been created specifically for you. This is a standard exemption under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
FAULTY OR INCORRECT ITEMS
If your item arrives damaged, faulty, or is not what you ordered, you are entitled to a full refund or replacement under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, regardless of whether the box has been opened. Please contact us within 30 days of receiving your order at hello@thesafetyedit.co.uk with:
— Your order number
— A description of the fault or issue
— A photograph if possible
We will arrange a replacement or full refund including return postage at no cost to you.
PERSONAL ALARMS — IMPORTANT NOTE
Our personal alarms are supplied with a manufacturer's warranty. If you experience a fault with a personal alarm after the 30-day return window, please contact us and we will help you access the manufacturer's warranty process. The Minder alarm carries a 5-year manufacturer's warranty.
SUBSCRIPTIONS — THE MONTHLY REFILL
If you have subscribed to The Monthly Refill, you may cancel your subscription at any time before your next billing date. To cancel, log in to your account or contact us at hello@thesafetyedit.co.uk. Refunds will not be issued for subscription boxes that have already been dispatched. If a subscription box arrives damaged or faulty, the same faulty items policy above applies.
HOW TO REQUEST A RETURN OR REFUND
Email us at hello@thesafetyedit.co.uk with your order number and the reason for your return. We aim to respond to all return requests within 2 business days.
Please do not send items back without contacting us first — unauthorised returns may not be processed.
YOUR RIGHTS TO COMPLAIN
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your return or refund, you have the right to seek alternative dispute resolution. You may refer your complaint to the Retail Ombudsman. You may also seek redress through the courts.
