TERMS OF SERVICE
Last updated: April 2026
Please read these terms carefully before placing an order with The Safety Edit™. By purchasing from our website or using our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. ABOUT US
The Safety Edit™ is a UK-based personal safety gift box brand operating via thesafetyedit.co.uk ("our website"). We are a sole trader registered in the United Kingdom. Our contact email is hello@thesafetyedit.co.uk.
2. THESE TERMS
These terms of service govern your use of our website and the purchase of products from us. They are governed by the laws of England and Wales. By placing an order, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force at the time of your purchase will apply to that order.
3. OUR PRODUCTS
We sell curated personal safety gift boxes containing items such as personal alarms, drink covers, test strips, safety information, and related accessories.
Important — product limitations: Our products are designed to help reduce risk and support personal safety awareness. They are not a guarantee of safety and cannot prevent all harm. Personal alarms are deterrents, not physical barriers. Drink covers reduce the risk of drink tampering but do not eliminate it. Test strips detect common spiking substances but not all possible substances. We make no claim that use of our products will prevent crime, injury, or harm.
All product descriptions, images, and safety information on our website are provided in good faith and are as accurate as we can make them. We reserve the right to amend product contents where a substitution of equivalent or superior specification is required due to supplier availability.
4. PRICING AND PAYMENT
All prices shown on our website are in pounds sterling (£) and include VAT where applicable. We reserve the right to change prices at any time, but any price change will not affect an order you have already placed and paid for.
Payment is processed securely via Shopify Payments. We accept all major credit and debit cards. We do not store your payment card details.
Occasionally, a pricing error may occur on our website. If we discover an error in the price of an item you have ordered, we will contact you before dispatching your order. You will have the option to proceed at the correct price or cancel your order for a full refund.
5. ORDERS AND CONTRACT
Placing an order constitutes an offer to purchase. A contract between you and us is formed when we send you an order confirmation email. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion, for example in cases of suspected fraud, pricing errors, or inability to fulfil.
You are responsible for ensuring that the delivery address you provide is correct. We cannot accept responsibility for orders that are not delivered due to an incorrect address being provided.
6. DELIVERY
We aim to dispatch all orders within 2–3 working days of receiving payment. Delivery is via Royal Mail Tracked 48 as standard, with tracked signed options available at checkout for higher-value orders.
Estimated delivery times are provided in good faith but are not guaranteed. We are not liable for delays caused by Royal Mail or other circumstances outside our control.
Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. If your order is marked as delivered but you have not received it, please contact us at hello@thesafetyedit.co.uk within 7 days and we will investigate with Royal Mail.
7. RETURNS AND REFUNDS
Our full returns and refund policy is set out separately at thesafetyedit.co.uk/pages/returns-and-refund-policy and forms part of these terms. In summary: unopened, unused boxes may be returned within 14 days. Opened boxes cannot be returned for hygiene reasons. Faulty items will always be replaced or refunded. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected.
8. SUBSCRIPTIONS
If you subscribe to The Monthly Refill/Quarterly Refill or any other subscription product, you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis at the frequency selected at checkout. You may cancel at any time before your next billing date by logging into your account or contacting us at hello@thesafetyedit.co.uk. We do not offer refunds for subscription boxes that have already been dispatched.
9. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The Safety Edit™ is a registered trade mark application at the UK Intellectual Property Office. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Our website may contain links to third-party websites, apps, or services (for example, the Hollie Guard app). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party service. Linking to a third party does not imply endorsement.
12. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTES
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from your purchase will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If you have a complaint, please contact us first at hello@thesafetyedit.co.uk and we will do our best to resolve it.
